Artist Statement

I love the sense of movement and endless creativity with clay. Take clay, fire and colour, add some skill and a creative touch and pottery is produced that can be enjoyed and used every day.

The glaze colours I use mostly are natural tones of blues, greens, browns mimicking the feel of water, trees, land. Add the heat of kiln that plays with the glazes and the pottery comes out uniquely each time

Background Information:

I live and make pots in Limehouse, Ontario whose claim to fame is the kilns (still present and restored) used to fire the limestone bricks used in the Parliament buildings.

I've been making pots intentionally and going out with my wheel since 2000. I took my first pottery class 30 years before that, in highschool at a local college. I left it for 24 years, although I never lost the intrigue and interest in clay. I love the feel of clay and continue to enjoy taking courses, exploring new forms and glazes. In pottery one never "arrives." There are always new possibilities and new techniques to try.

I hope you enjoy the site. Check out how pots are formed. Check out the pots I make. If you're ever in Limehouse, stop in for a visit. Please call before you come. I may be out with my wheel doing a presentation.
